Cranbrook Canadian Tire Donates $5,000 to the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies

Cranbrook, BC (October 27, 2020) – Mike and Cora Feener, owners of Canadian Tire in Cranbrook, recently donated $5,000 to the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies (CFKR).

$2,500 will go towards the new KEYSA Indoor Sports Facility, which will be opening soon in Balment Park, next to the Cranbrook Curling Centre.

The remaining $2,500 will be added to the Cranbrook Community Endowment Fund. The interest from this fund provides annual grants, in perpetuity, to support local non-profits that are making a positive impact in our community.

“CFKR sincerely appreciates the wide variety of community initiatives that Mike and Cora have supported, during their time in Cranbrook, including this most recent donation,” said Lynnette Wray, CFKR Executive Director.

Wray added, “This donation encompasses several of the causes that are near and dear to Mike and Cora’s hearts, including a focus on children and youth, sports and recreation, and community services.”
