Cranbrook Boys and Girls Club launches opportunity fund
CRANBROOK – The Cranbrook Boys and Girls club has started an opportunity fund with the Cranbrook and District Community Foundation (CDCF) with the hopes of reaching $10,000 by September, and $50,000 by their 50th anniversary in 2020.
Once the opportunity fund reaches $10,000, it will be endowed and invested with the CDCF and begin to earn a sustainable, permanent income returned annually to the Cranbrook Boys and Girls Club to support its operations, projects, programming, and initiatives.
“Quality, accessible childcare and youth activities are important issues in our community,” says Lynnette Wray, executive director of the Cranbrook Boys and Girls Club. “The Cranbrook Boys and Girls Club has been an essential resource in our community since 1970, addressing and advocating for these issues and working towards collaborative solutions.
“We’re here for the long term; which is why we are investing in a sustainable financial future in which we can have a permanent source of annual income returning to our organization. The opportunity fund is one of the steps we are taking to ensure we remain a strong, influential, supportive and important part of positive childcare and child development in Cranbrook.”
The Cranbrook Boys and Girls Club is a leading provider of quality after school and out-of-school programs. It offers a wide variety of community-based programs and services to meet the needs of children, youth, and families. Their programs support healthy physical, educational and social development by giving children and youth the opportunities to experience sports and recreation, creative arts, literacy, health and nutrition, and personal growth.
