Hyundai for Hunger

Food trucks and vendors will gather at Cranbrook Hyundai on August 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to serve up some of the best street grub the Kootenay’s has to offer, all in the name of charity.
The event, Hyundai for Hunger, will benefit the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen Endowment Fund, held by the Cranbrook and District Community Foundation.
TELUS Fibre for Good
When: Now through to September 30
Where: Cranbrook, B.C.
For every new Optik TV subscriber on the Fibre Optic Network in Cranbrook, TELUS will donate $25 to a local participating charity.
The Cranbrook and District Community Foundation (CDCF) is very excited to be included as one of the non-profits in the TELUS Fibre for Good program.
“It’s fabulous when you see organizations stepping up and thinking about ways to incorporate philanthropy into everyday business,” says Riley Wilcox, executive director of the CDCF. “We are very excited to be part of this initiative, and are in good company with the Blue Lake Forest Education Society, the Boys & Girls Club, Cranbrook Food Bank Society and the Cranbrook Public Library.”
If you’ve already signed up for Optik TV in Cranbrook, watch for an email in the coming weeks inviting you to vote for a non-profit organization in your community to receive the donation.
Fall Regional BC Community Foundation Gathering – Save the Date
When: October 15 and 16, 2015
Where: Nelson, B.C.
Feedback from the provincial gathering of BC Community Foundations last November indicated strong interest for Community Foundation gatherings, and for them to take place around the province. Plans are being finalized for the first of these gatherings which will take place in Nelson on October 15 -16. Although some of the program content will be specific to the Kootenay/Rockies region, all BC Community Foundations are welcome to attend. More information on programming, lodging and subsidies will be available over the next month.
