Kim enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the early childhood education field, starting as an Early Childhood Educator with a complimentary license in special needs, working in childcare/preschool, and moving into management, including her leadership roles with the Child Care Resource and Referral program and the Community Connections Society of Southeast BC. Kim has been an active participant with many community tables regarding key issues such as housing, homelessness, food security, and childcare. Kim served on the board of the BC Association of Child Development and Intervention, which focusses on supports and resources for families of children with diverse needs, including advocacy at the provincial level. Since her retirement in late 2020, Kim has had time to hone her amazing crocheting skills, enjoy her role as a member of the Rockin’ in the Rockies Car Club, and spend time with family and friends. After serving on CFKR’s granting committee as an external volunteer for several years, Kim joined the CFKR Board in March of 2025, where she looks forward to pursuing her passion for community initiatives related to children, families, mental health, and the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
